Steffen Jost

Steffen Jost is Head of Program and Lead Digital History and Memory at the Alfred Landecker Foundation.
He is responsible for developing projects that focus on the commemoration of the Holocaust and National Socialism. Innovative, digital formats are particularly important to him. Before joining the Foundation, Steffen was head of the education department at the Concentration Camp Memorial Site in Dachau, where he played a key role in promoting the digital development of the educational programs. In addition, he has long been concerned with the history of the persecution of Sinti and Roma under National Socialism and the possibilities of conveying this story. In 2020, he wrote an expert report on Antiziganism and memorial sites for the Independent Commission on Antiziganism.
Steffen is a historian and studied in Marburg and Madrid. He worked at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and the Max Mannheimer Study Center in Dachau and has extensive experience in extracurricular education.
